Netflix Global Expansion
Sunday, August 28th, 2011
Netflix, the world’s leading Internet subscription service for enjoying movies and TV shows announced late last month, an international licensing agreement for Canadian and Latin American subscribers.
This news follows Netflix announcement earlier in July, that it would expand into the European, Mexican, and South American markets beginning later this year. This comes as great news to all TV and movie fans across the globe. The Netflix catalog currently offers over 100,000 titles to its US customers. With this global expansion, adapting these 100,000 titles in several foreign languages and formats is going to prove to be a consequential endeavor; one which Audionamix is happy to help contribute to with its dedicated teams and partners.

West Side Story: An Amazing Experience
Sunday, August 28th, 2011In June’s newsletter, Audionamix mentioned that we had the opportunity to work on the legendary musical, “West Side Story”. We used our Music Dissociation service to remove the symphonic score, leaving behind clean dialog, a cappella vocals and the original sound effects tracks of the entire film.
The classic score was played live by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by world renowned Composer/Conductor David Newman. The Audionamix team attended the sold-out event at the Hollywood Bowl and witnessed a evening that was nothing short of amazing.
Steve Linder, David Newman’s manager, praised Audionamix for the hard work. “There is no way we could have done this without your tireless efforts. I am truly thankful and will continue to spread the word about Audionamix and Chace Audio by Deluxe and the amazing work that all of you did to make what was seemingly impossible… possible.”
If you were unable to attend West Side Story at the Hollywood Bowl. There will be two more performances in both Chicago and New York City before the end of the year. Experience this live event and hear it like you’ve never heard “West Side Story” before.

DEG Features ADX Music Dissociation
Wednesday, August 24th, 2011The Digital Entertainment Group, a nonprofit corporation that advocates and promotes consumer benefits associated with home entertainment products, recently featured ADX technology in its quarterly newsletter.
The article highlights Music Dissociation, a tool that was specifically developed to meet our clients needs. Utilizing ADX Music Dissociation, content owners are able to seamlessly remove and replace cost prohibitive music from a “full comp” mix allowing for the re-release of titles into global home entertainment and digital distribution markets.
One specific example mentioned in the newsletter, discussed how music licensing costs for one season of a popular TV show was so high, it made the local DVD release cost prohibitive. The separated audio elements for that territory were not available and the licensed music could not be removed. The show was dropped from the release schedule with the associated loss in revenue.
Using ADX Music Dissociation, the audio elements were unlocked and over 80 music cues of original licensed music were removed and replaced. The music licensing cost was reduced by over 75%, profitability was restored and the season was successfully released. The title’s marketability was re-established generating unexpected revenue and positive outlook for that specific title.
